Selena Gomez has reportedly expressed her discontent regarding her ex-boyfriend, The Weeknd's, HBO show The Idol. 

The source shared with DailyMail.com that the parallels drawn between Selena's experiences and those depicted in the show have left her irked, especially considering her past relationship with The Weeknd.

Having dated The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, for a significant period of time back in 2017, she feels a particular uneasiness as her real-life pain is seemingly being used for entertainment value in The Idol. 

Her team is reportedly dumbfounded by the striking resemblances between her life and Lily-Rose Depp's character in the controversial HBO series.

Although taken aback, those close to Selena have faith that she will rise above the situation and move forward, as she always does.

The most obvious connection lies in the fact that Selena and Jocelyn's stories intertwine with The Weeknd's involvement. 

Selena famously dated The Weeknd in real life, while Jocelyn falls for his character on-screen. 

However, the plot goes even deeper, delving into Jocelyn's intense personal struggles, which bear an uncanny resemblance to Selena's own mental health challenges during her relationship with The Weeknd.
