Ice Spice is killing her trolls with kindness.
The 23-year-old rapper responded with a cheeky comment to a Twitter user comparing her looks to a woman with Down syndrome.
"U thought u ate but my sis cute asf ," she quote-tweeted a since-deleted photo of a collage featuring a picture of Ice Spice on one side and a face of a woman with Down syndrome on the other.
Fans of the Bronx singer rallied behind her in support, with one of them writing: "Love how you brought out the positivity in this post despite the original intent of the messy poster. Keep doing you Ice! Your [star] will keep rising."
"Better not be trying to insult her," a second chimed in, noting that "both sides are beautiful and you’d have to have very poor taste to not agree."
This is not the first time the rapper has been at the receiving end of criticism. Since debuting in 2021, she has been repeatedly subjected to racism, misogyny, and casual sexism from the public as well as fellow singers.
Taylor Swift’s rumoured boyfriend Matty Healy mocked Ice Spice during a February appearance on the Adam Friedland Show, calling her "This chubby Chinese lady," and "Inuit Spice Girl."
The 1975 frontman issued a perfunctory apology to the rapper during an April tour show in Auckland, New Zealand. "Ice Spice, I’m sorry. It’s not because I’m annoyed that me joking got misconstrued. It’s because I don’t want Ice Spice to think I’m a [expletive]. I love you, Ice Spice. I’m so sorry," Healy told the crowd.
