Hailey Bieber sported nepo baby shirt because 'I am one': 'I embrace it'

Hailey Bieber is proudly embracing her privileged background.

The 26-year-old model, who is the daughter of Hollywood stars Stephen Baldwin and Kennya Baldwin, weighed in on her bold choice of clothing after she was photographed sporting a "Nepo Baby" inscribed T-shirt at the beginning of this year.

Speaking to Bloomberg, she explained it as her "little comment on the whole discourse" of the time, referencing New York Magazine’s December 2022 cover story pointing out famous children of famous parents.

Hailey went on to stress that she wasn't trying to "poke fun at it or be like, 'Yeah, I'm a nepo baby' and ha-ha type of thing."

She continued: "It was more so to be like this is what everyone is saying, and I want you to know this is my way of responding to it and my way of acknowledging it," she added, "in a way that is so overly literal that it's like, "I'm just going to call myself a nepo baby because I am one and I embrace that I am."

Needless to say, the Rhode mogul was amused about the "mixed" reception to her little stint. "You're going to sit there and call me a nepo baby all day long but then I acknowledge it and then I'm not enough of a nepo baby?" she marvelled. "So, it's like, there is never any winning with the internet."

Elsewhere in the interview, Hailey also addressed her "made-up" feud with her husband Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, insisting that she’s frustrated with the unwarranted discourse around it.
