Evan Handler praises Kim Cattrall's 'AJLT' cameo as 'Great'

Evan Handler, known for his role in And Just Like That... as Harry Goldenblatt, recently expressed his enthusiasm for Kim Cattrall reprising her iconic character, Samantha Jones, in the second season of the revival series.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the Ed Asner & Friends Celebrity Poker Night, Handler shared his thoughts on Cattrall's comeback.

Handler, 62, spoke highly of Cattrall's return, stating, "I think it is great."

The actor acknowledged that her cameo was shot separately, revealing, "Apparently, she was shot in the garage somewhere with no contact with anybody, so the only place I have to welcome her is into my living room when it airs on television," humorously highlighting the unique circumstances surrounding the filming.

When asked about when he first learned about Cattrall's return to the SATC-verse, Handler disclosed that he found out the same day as the public.

According to Variety, Cattrall filmed her appearance on March 22 in New York City, with no direct contact with the stars of the series, including Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis. 

The report also revealed that Cattrall did not engage with series creator Michael Patrick King. 

However, the actress was styled by renowned SATC designer Patricia Field for her cameo appearance, ensuring a seamless connection to the character's distinctive fashion sense.

In an interview with Variety last June, when questioned about Samantha's return, King responded with a resounding "Yes!" This confirmation set the stage for fans' excitement and speculation leading up to the season's premiere on June 22.
