This month, troubled actor Ezra Miller will appear in public in support of The Flash. Despite being the lead in the superhero film, Miller has not participated in any press interviews. That was to be expected, as Miller (Miller uses they/them pronouns) has been the subject of considerable controversy over the past year as a result of the several criminal charges and serious claims brought against them.

Miller disclosed that they had sought professional assistance for their difficulties with mental health last summer. Miller has received support from The Flash's director and producers throughout the journey.

Miller has maintained a fairly low profile since announcing that declaration, but according to Variety, the actor will attend the June 12 Los Angeles premiere of The Flash. Miller won't be taking part in any press interviews during the event, but they will be posing for pictures on the red carpet. Miller's co-star Michael Keaton won't be present because he is staying in London working on a project. Along with Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, and Ben Affleck from The Flash, director Andy Muschietti will also be present.

Although it is exceedingly unusual for the lead actor in a tentpole movie to forgo the marketing campaign before the film's release, it was unsurprising in this situation given the controversy and Miller's ongoing mental health therapy.

Some people might be more shocked to learn that Miller will still show up at the L.A. premiere. It was stated that Miller preferred not to participate in interviews since they would divert attention from the actual film.

“Ezra wants the movie to open and the conversation to be about the movie and not about Ezra,” Variety quotes a source close to Miller as saying. “They are focused on their mental health and don’t want it to be transactional.”
