The acclaimed HBO drama series Succession stars New York-born actor Peter Friedman as Frank Vernon, vice-chair of Waystar Royco. He recently reflected on the audience's response and the difficulties of preserving the plot hidden.

Friedman said that fan speculation on websites like Reddit about the show's conclusion is fairly accurate and stated that he finds viewer reactions to be fascinating.

"I sometimes look at Reddit and, let me tell you, people are on the right track. The darts are all over the board but they’ve been narrowing it down to what’s actually going to happen," he told Guardian.

Friedman admits the extraordinary efforts required to keep narrative details under wraps concerning the secrecy surrounding Succession. Nothing leaked despite sequences with a lot of extras, like Logan's burial and Connor's wedding. He did, however, add:

"They did indeed print up a bunch of decoys to put people off. I even kept his death secret from my wife until I inadvertently mentioned something funny that happened in Norway. She said: “Wait, is Logan dead?” When Harriet Walter [who plays Logan’s ex-wife Lady Caroline] came in for the funeral episode, she saw all the black clothes and said: “Who died?” It had even been kept secret from her."

Friedman responded that he believes none of the Roy children are qualified for the position when asked about his option as Logan's replacement.
