Dolph Lundgren is stepping into the world of The Witcher.

The Swedish actor has been confirmed to join the universe of monsters and kings in a key role in the upcoming spinoff codenamed Riff Raff, also referred to internally as Rats.

The news followed the actor’s interview with Swedish magazine, Aftonbladet, in which he also opened up about his ongoing battle against lung cancer.

When asked about his current endeavors in the wake of the diagnosis, Lundgren assured that he “actually” feels “better than I have in five years,” before letting it slip that he is currently filming the Netflix series in South Africa.

As reported earlier, the upcoming prequel series will follow the tale of six teenagers, survivors of Nilfgaard’s war to conquer the Continent.

The official synopsis for the series read: “Six teenage thieves must rely on their criminal skills as they plan the biggest heist of their careers against the most dangerous crime ring in the kingdom.”

The role of six teenagers will be embodied by Christelle Elwin as Mistle, Juliette Alexandra as Reef, Ben Radcliffe as Giselher, Aggy K. Adams as Iskra, Connor Crawford as Asse, and Fabian McCallum as Kayleigh.

It is unclear what role will Lundgren play, however, it is suspected that he may have been cast in the role of antagonist Leo Bonhart.
