The suspect involved in the shooting and killing of rapper Takeoff has been arraigned by the court of Houston.

On Nov. 1, the Migos rapper was murdered after being shot during a private party at a bowling alley in the city.

The coroner’s office later revealed that Takeoff was involved in a physical altercation before he was shot in the head and torso leading to his death outside the business.

A 33-year-old man, Patrick Xavier Clark was arrested a month later over suspicion of murder. However, he was released on a bond of $1,000,000 in January.

According to the court documents, Clark has been formally indicted on the murder charge and is set to appear for his first hearing on Aug. 23.

His attorney released a statement on Thursday, noting that the indictment was “not unexpected.”

“Today’s action by the grand jury is not unexpected,” Letitia Quinones-Hollins said. “We would ask people to remember that getting an indictment requires meeting a very, very minimal standard of proof.

“When we get inside a courtroom and in front of a jury, where we will be able to put on our evidence and cross-examine the state’s witnesses – where the standard of proof is guilt beyond reasonable doubt – we expect the jury will come back with a verdict of not guilty,” she added.
