Matt Berry is reportedly in the works of starring in a Minecraft movie.

The actor, who also worked in What We Do in the Shadows, is said to be in talks with the casting directors in hopes to star alongside Jason Momoa for the video game adaptation.

As of yet details regarding the actor’s role in the film has not been revealed, however it is known that the live-action movie is slated for a release in April 2025.

Jared Hess will be helming the Warner Bros. movie and as per investors, hopes are pinned on the movie to rake in success similar to other adaptations like Detective Pikachu and Sonic the Hedgehog.

The adaptation was first announced in 2014 with multiple directors attached to the project before they proceeded to leave and later be replaced.

The game first released in 2011 and it went on to sell over 200 million copies across the globe.

This comes after the actor suggested that his role as vampire Laszlo Cravensworth in the comedy horror show may be running its course as he is getting "a bit old" for it.

In an interview with RadioTimes.com the 49-year-old stated: "There's a lot of harnesses and stunts and stuff. I might be getting a bit too old for that! I don't know."

"But you know I'm supposed to be undead, so the rules don't apply do they."
