Katy Perry to skip next season of American Idol over 'harsh criticism'?

Katy Perry is done with politics.

The 38-year-old singer might not appear in the next season of American Idol after being “repeatedly thrown under the bus” by producers for the last six years.

The Roar singer made headlines this season over a slew of baseless controversies and scandals pertaining to her behavior towards the contestants as she believes that the showrunners purposefully edited her to look like the “nasty judge.”

“Katy feels like [the producers] threw her under the bus,” a source told the Daily Mail, alluding to the pop star’s mom-shaming remarks at a contestant at the beginning of this season, noting that “her comments could have been removed.”

“Katy became aware of the harsh criticism. Getting booed really upset her. She was trying to stay in her lane, do her job, and go home,” they explained.

The insiders admitted that Perry took on the position “thinking she was going to foster young talent,” however, her “good intentions” have been misinterpreted from the start.

“She has accomplished so much in her career and is now being looked at as a nasty reality show judge,” they claimed. “Katy's wanted out for some time now, but this season was way too much for her to handle.”
