Amber Heard has confirmed her plans to settle down in Spain after the conclusion of her highly publicized trial against her ex-husband Johnny Depp.
In a recent spotting in Madrid, the actress spoke to the Spanish press, in the native language, and revealed that she indeed saw the South American nation as her new home.
Speaking in Spanish, the actress seemed to have no trouble expressing her likeness for Madrid.
In the duration of the interview, however, she particularly dodged a question that asked her about her future in films.
"I love Spain so much. I hope I can get to stay here, I love living here. I hope you are good, it was a pleasure meeting you. I have to move forward, huh? That's life," she said in Spanish.
The news comes after recent photos of the actress revealed that she was now enjoying the beaches of Palma de Mallorca following the sale of her California home for $1.1 million.
Her unannounced exit from Hollywood and subsequent move to Spain was a result of her loss in a defamation trial against her ex-husband Depp.
For the unversed, in 2019, Depp had sued her for $50 million while she proceeded to countersue for $100 million.
In 2022, after the highly-publicized trial, the court found Heard to be wrongful in her allegations and ordered her to pay $10 million in compensatory damages as well as $350,000 in punitive damages for her 2018 The Washington Post op-ed piece calling herself "a public figure representing domestic abuse".
