Fast X Part 2: Here’s everything you need to know

Fast X will be back with a part 2 to wrap up things.

With the release of Fast X in theatres, the high-octane adventure that has been a part of the Fast & Furious narrative for more than 20 years is finally coming to a close. Fans of the larger-than-life action franchise Fast should not fear, though, as multiple films will be necessary to tie up the stories of all of the many, many returning characters.

Fast X 2 is in the works, according to Vin Diesel, who has been a part of the franchise since the beginning. He announced at CinemaCon 2023, "After this explosive summer, I will have the privilege of coming to you for Part 2 in 2025."

Here is all the information we have about Fast X: Part 2. There are some Fast X spoilers here, so beware.

Fast X Part 2: Director

In charge of the camera for Fast X was Louis Leterrier, who took over for franchise veteran Justin Lin. As director of Fast X: Part 2, which Universal has referred to as a "companion piece" to Fast X, Leterrier is anticipated to return.

Fast X Part 2: Cast

Along with the rest of the Fast Family, which also includes Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham, Sung Kang, and Nathalie Emmanuel, Vin Diesel will reprise his role as Dom Toretto.

Jason Momoa's Dante, a new bad villain, and Gal Gadot and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who appeared near the end of Fast X, will also be making a comeback.

Fast X Part 2: Expected Synopsis

The only thing we know for sure about the movie's plot so far is that some characters' futures are still up in the air following Fast X's shocking conclusion. The location of some of the film is known, though; in a Joe interview, director Louis Leterrier hinted that the franchise would be going to Ireland.

"Listen, you have great roads, you have great characters, actors, amazing scenery. Why aren't we shooting in Ireland right now, that is what I want to know. Yeah, let's go! Just suggest to me some areas where we should shoot, and yeah, absolutely, I'll come," he said.

"It would be great to come to Ireland," he continued. "I mean, our plan is that by the time we're done with Fast & Furious, to have gone through on the seven continents, and to have visited everything and to have visited every part of the world, and Ireland is so important, we need to go there. And I know Jason Momoa will have a good time."

Fast X Part 2: Release Date

All we currently know is that Fast X: Part 2 will be released in 2025 at some point, perhaps in the summer.

Fast X Part 2, what happens after that?

Diesel asserts that the prospect of a third Fast X chapter has not yet been completely ruled out, despite the fact that this film was presumably intended to wrap up the Fast narrative.

"Going into making this movie, the studio had asked if this could be a two-parter," Diesel revealed on the red carpet at the Fast X premiere. "And after the studio saw this, Part 1, they asked 'Could you make Fast X, the finale, a trilogy?'"
