Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly owe their marital success to Queen Elizabeth II

Prince William has been dubbed as the fourth child of Kate Middleton as the latter was accused of treating her husband like a child.

Tom Quinn, royal author of Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family, spoke to Express.co.uk and shared that a source close to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who share three children Prince George (9), Princess Charlotte (8) and Prince Louis (5), witnessed Prince William acting like a child.

"Kate treats him [William] like the fourth child because he's prone to tantrums," Quinn said.

The source elaborated that the Princess of Wales has been accustomed to the royal’s tantrums and thus, knows what to do in the situation despite having awful fights.

"They do have rows. It's not a perfect marriage. They have terrific rows."

"But, where some couples have a row and throw heavy vases at each other, William and Kate throw cushions at each other. It's always kept under control."

Praising Prince William, Quinn said that the royal took after his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s motto "Never complain, never explain" in which the late monarch insisted on maintaining her dignity in silence in the face of uncertainty.

"Because William adopts the manners and ways of behaving of his grandmother and Kate is very good at not complaining, both of them have stuck to the thing that made Queen Elizabeth II such a remarkable monarch," He continued.

The author added: "They very rarely complain and when they do it's always in measured terms."
