Riley Keough praises Lily Gladstone for Cannes film festival success

At the Cannes Film Festival, Riley Keough honoured Lily Gladstone for reaching a significant life milestone.

According to Variety, Gladstone's film Killers of the Flower Moon premiered on a Saturday, May 20, 2023, to the 'largest' standing ovation at the event for 9 minutes.

The 36-year-old actress co-stars with Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio in the three-and-a-half-hour movie that Martin Scorsese also directed.

The 33-year-old Rutherford Falls creator Sierra Teller Ornelas, who plays Gladstone in Daisy Jones & the Six, released a short clip of Gladstone from a carousel on her Instagram Stories.

As the riveted audience continues to applaud the film, Gladstone can be seen acting emotionally in the clip.

In the original caption, Ornelas wrote, "Just stealing pics from Cannes and losing my mind over how amazing this is. All the flowers to @lilygladstone @cara.jade.myers @janaedawnnn @tatankameans @tantoocardinal"

She added, "You worked so f---ing hard and waited so God Damn long for this moment."

The film Killers of the Flower Moon, which is based on the best-selling book by David Grann and was adapted for the big screen by Eric Roth and Martin Scorsese, is set in 1920s Oklahoma and tells the story of the violent murders of members of the oil-rich Osage Nation in a series of killings that became known as the Reign of Terror.

Despite the long running time and 45-minute start delay, the audience was so enthralled by the performance that they stood up for nine minutes in ovation.

Riley Keough is the executive producer of the upcoming limited series on Hulu. It will be based on Rebecca Godfrey's book about Reena Virk, a fourteen-year-old who went to a party with friends in 1997 but never came home.
