Molly Burnett leaves Law and Order: SVU

The fans of Law & Order: SVU will bid adieu to Molly Burnett who is leaving the NBC Series in which she played Detective Grace Muncy. 

According to Deadline, the  actress confirmed her departure before the release of season 25.

She joined the series in July and then debuted in the second episode of Season 24 that was titled, The One You Feed.

The last episode of the character revealed that she is offered another job with the DEA by the Chief of Police.

This came after the shocking news that Kelli Giddish would also leave the series in August. 

The  final episode would be as a series regular in episode 9 of season 24. 

The episode revealed that she is pregnant when Giddish reprised the part of Amanda Rollins in the crossover finale of Law & Order: SVU and Organized Crime. 

In the same finale, Muncy’s departure was revealed. 

If this open spot could be filled with Rollins is not confirmed yet.

The producer of the series, Wolf Entertainment, also shared a clip of the character’s emotional goodbye.

The show stars Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, Peter Scanavino, and Octavio Pisano. 

Law & Order: SVU will come out in NBC this fall. 

Given the current writer’s strike, it is not clear whether the series will return in the 2023-2024 time.
