Sarah Silverman saddens over DEATH of ‘Best Pal' Father Donald Silverman

Sarah Silverman mourns her father Donald Silverman’s demise.

The comedian, 52, shared on Thursday that her father, Donald Silverman, had passed away the previous evening in an Instagram post.

"My best pal, Schleppy - my dad, died last night," Silverman captioned a carousel of pictures. "All the sisters, and grandkids surrounded him with love and singing and very dark f---ed up jokes this final week."

"He always said he was the richest man in the world because of his family, and he was," she added.

In light of the recent passing of her stepmother, Janice, to whom Donald had been married for 40 years, Silverman observed that the timing of her father's passing was appropriate.

"Ultimately, he wanted to be with his love, Janice, who we lost last Monday. No shiva- of you wanna do something please donate to @2ndnurture," she added, making reference to the nonprofit group that seeks to "radically increase the number of families who choose to foster and adopt waiting children and teens and do so successfully."

Silverman talked about her father and how she acquired his sense of humour in her memoir The Bedwetter, published in 2010.

In another essay, she claimed that he taught her how to curse at an early age, saying, "It was like he was teaching a 'cursing as a second language' course for one."
