Taylor Swift vs BTS: ARMYs, Swifties gang up against each other over mysterious book

The fanbases of BTS and Taylor Swift have been attempting to prove that an unknown book that is slated for pre-order is by their favourite artists.

This first emerged when Twitter user @lenikacruz revealed plans of a future publication.

The details shared were not enough to determine who the work was from but from what was available, the announcement is slated for June 13 and a worldwide publication date of July 9. 

The publication date is considered unusual as it is a Sunday rather than the publishing industry’s norm of a Tuesday or Thursday.

This caused eagle-eyed fans to jump into speculation with many considering that the listed dates were intentionally picked rather than staying within the normal practices of the publishing industry.

Swifties have been taking note of the details of the mysterious book and considering that it is 544 pages long, adding each number gives 13, a number that is legendary within the singer’s fanbase.

Swift, who was born on 13th December, 1989, wrote the number on her hand before performing during the early days of her career and has since used the number many times to drop her famous Easter eggs regarding major news.

As a result many are speculating that the book, which has since skyrocketed in popularity on Amazon, has something to do with the singer.

On the flip side BTS fans have firmly made up their minds about the speculated book coming from the famed boyband.

Considering that the K-pop group made their debut on 13 June, 2013 it would come to no surprise that the group would mark their 10-year anniversary with a book commemorating them on the same date. 

Due to the speculation, social media pages of official bookstores had to announce that they were not aware of who is behind the book.

"I heard about it this weekend and a lot of swifties are speculating it’s for Taylor but at the same time a lot can coincide with our fandom:  544 pages (5+4+4=13), first print run 1M copies (that’s a lot) , streets are saying it’s not Tay but a 'big musical act'," one fan speculated. 

"For me the June 13 BTS debut anniversary announcement date and the July 9 pub date (army birthday) tells me everything I need to know lol," the original user who posted the announcement added.

"Idk, doesn’t she have a special relationship with the number 13 as well? And she’s releasing an album at the beginning of July," one Swiftie jumped in.
