Heather Armstrong, the mom blogger is dead.
The writer, also known online as "Dooce," was confirmed dead on Instagram on Wednesday.
"Heather Brooke Hamilton aka Heather B. Armstrong aka dooce aka love of my life," the caption of a selfie of her reads.
"July 19, 1975 - May 9, 2023. 'It takes an ocean not to break.' Hold your loved ones close and love everyone else."
After 18 months of abstinence, Armstrong's boyfriend Pete Ashdown informs The Associated Press that he committed suicide after recently relapsing.
When Armstrong opened up about her battles with depression and alcoholism as a mother of two on her blog, Dooce.com, in 2001, she became known for her candour and frank humour.
Armstrong and her ex-husband Jon Armstrong, who served as both of their business partners up until their divorce in 2012, had two daughters, Leta, 19, and Marlo, 13.
The same year she published her memoir, It Sucked and then I Cried: How I Had a Baby, a Breakdown, and a Much Needed Margarita, Armstrong was named one of Forbes' Most Influential Women.
Despite taking a few breaks, she resumed blogging full-time in 2017, turning her attention away from her family and towards conversations concerning mental health.
Armstrong's last Instagram posts during her family's spring break were pictures of her two kids playing in the water at the Homestead Crater in Midway, Utah, in March.
