The ripples created by the Writers Guild Association are now being felt as major productions have now been halted.
Here are five TV shows that have been affected by the strike:
1) Stranger Things
Production for the final season of the show has been halted due to the strike. The Duffer brothers took to their Twitter to write, "Writing does not stop when filming begins, while we're excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike. We hope a fair deal is reached soon so we can all get back to work. Until then — over and out. #wgastrong."
2) Saturday Night Live
The late night show was another casualty of the strike and the episode with former cast member, Pete Davidson that was set to air was put on hold.
3) The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
The talk show also went dark as the episodes are written the day the show goes live meaning it cannot function without the writers.
4) Cobra Kai
The strike also closed down their writing rooms and in the initial days of the strike writer Jon Hurwitz wrote, "We hate to strike, but if we must, we strike hard. Pencils down in the Cobra Kai writers room. No writers on set. These aren't fun times, but it's unfortunately necessary. The moment a fair deal is in place; we'll get back to kicking a**. In the meantime, sending strength and support to the negotiating committee. You got this."
5) Evil
Production on season 4 of the show also came to a close as writers shut down filming in Brooklyn leaving many broken-hearted.
It's not clear how these pauses will affect each show; it's possible some might be delayed by just weeks or months, depending on the length of the strike, while others may shorten their new seasons or could fail to resume at all.
