Blake Lively opts out of 2023 Met Gala appearance

Actress Blake Lively, who is known for her stunning appearances at the Met Gala, will not be attending the fashion event this year.

 Lively confirmed her absence while attending the reopening of Tiffany & Co. Fifth Avenue in New York City.

 She was dressed in a brown midi dress and styling voluminous curls as she spoke to reporters, stating that she would not be present at the upcoming Met Gala. 

The announcement came as a surprise to fans who were hoping to catch a glimpse of the star on the red carpet.

When asked about her absence from the Met Gala, Blake Lively confirmed that she wouldn't be attending the event this year. 

However, the actor mentioned that she would be watching the event. Blake made this statement while attending the reopening of Tiffany & Co.

She received compliments for her Statue of Liberty-inspired ensemble from last year's Met Gala.

 In response, she said, "Thank you, that's very sweet. I'll be wearing that on my couch on Monday."

While the actress has not given a specific reason for her no-show, it's worth noting that she and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, welcomed their fourth child just a few months ago in February.

Lively served as one of the co-chairs at the 2021 Met Gala, along with her husband Ryan Reynolds, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Regina King. 

Last year's theme was In  America: An Anthology of Fashion.

Other gorgeous ensembles are expected to grace the iconic steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art during this year's Met Gala, despite Blake Lively's absence.
