Millie Bobby Brown’s calls ‘first-ever’ KISS with Finn Wolfhard was ‘definitely strange’

Millie Bobby Brown had her first-ever kiss on-screen.

The strong response to Brown's performance as Eleven after Stranger Things has made her one of the most sought-after young actors in Hollywood.

Although Millie Bobby Brown and co-star Finn Wolfhard's first on-screen kiss was awkward, even the most talented actors experience these moments occasionally.

Over the course of the first season, Eleven and Mike, one of the show's main characters, become a close connection.

Throughout the season, their initially platonic friendship becomes one that is more intense and ends with a kiss. Brown had never kissed before, not just on television.

Brown, who just announced her engagement to beau Jake Bongiovi, acknowledges that it was actually her first kiss, but that it was "only acting" in an interview with Interview Magazine.

“Yeah, I did have to kiss Finn. At the end of the day, it’s only acting, and it’s something you have to do, and I would do anything for the show.”

She added, “I cut my hair, I kissed Finn. It was definitely strange. It was, like, my first kiss, so it was kind of weird. But then, like, when I’d done it, I thought, ‘Wow. It makes sense for the storyline.’”

Finn Wolfhard was 'not a good kisser'

During a lie detector test for Vanity Fair, Millie Bobby Brown disclosed that Wolfhard was her first kiss.

During the interview, Brown is connected to a polygraph device and a technician asks him a series of questions. When asked if Finn Wolfhard made a good kisser, the actress answered without hesitation that he did not.

In response to Brown's critiques, Wolfhard admitted that he, too, was perplexed throughout the situation in an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show. Wolfhard and his co-star shared his first on-screen kiss, but he was totally unprepared for it.

“My first on-screen kiss was with Millie, but I didn’t know how to approach that in any way. There was no just like, ‘You’re gonna do this thing, and at the end of the take, you’re gonna kiss her.’”

He concluded, “The romantic way of putting it was that I headbutted her. But I was 12, so, you know, I probably would have done the same thing if I was not on screen in front of the entire world.”
