Sharon Acker passes away at age 87

Sharon Acker died in her residential home in Toronto  

Hollywood star Sharon Acker passed away on March 16 in her residential home in Toronto at the age of 87, Kim Everest confirmed.

Acker, who was best known for her role as Lee Marvin's unfaithful wife in Point Blank, died of causes that have not been disclosed. 

She starred as Mrs. Stacey on CBC's Anne of Green Gables.  

She went on to join the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, where she played Anne Page opposite future Star Trek costar William Shatner in a performance of The Merry Wives of Windsor.

Alongside Point Blank, she has appeared in Lucky Jim. 

Acker was also in the Cannes competition film Don't Let the Angels Fall. That year, she was named Motion Picture Exhibitors of Canada's Film Star of Tomorrow.

Her notable TV performances included a 1976-77 CBS adaptation of Executive Suite in which she played the wife of Mitchell Ryan's Dan Walling. She subsequently featured in a 15-episode revival of Perry Mason in 1973.

She also featured in the CBC series Festival and played Lady MacDuff in a Macbeth version in 1961.
