Jeremy Renner's ‘terrifying’ details in First TV Interview Since Snow Plow Accident

Jeremy Renner is fine now.

During his first televised interview since the tragic snow plough accident that almost claimed his life, Jeremy Renner will speak with Diane Sawyer.

Prior to the world debut of Renner's new Disney+ series "Rennervations," an ABC News special titled "Jeremy Renner: The Diane Sawyer Interview - A Tale of Horror, Survival and Triumph" will air.

This will be the actor's first press appearance since the incident.

Renner replies, "All of it," when Sawyer asks how much of the suffering he can recall. I was awake at all times.

Renner was run over by his Sno-Cat, a sizable snow plough that weights at least 14,330 pounds, at the beginning of January, resulting in acute chest damage, orthopaedic injuries, and hospitalisation. The Sno-Cat crushed the actor as he was attempting to rescue his nephew from the snow outside of his Lake Tahoe house.

“I see him in a pool of blood coming from his head,” Renner’s nephew tells Sawyer in the ABC News special. “I ran up to him. I didn’t think he was alive.”

Jeremy Renner 'broke a lot' in accident

In a teaser for the Renner interview, Sawyer reads off a long list of the actor's injuries, which includes the shocking 911 call made to save Renner's life (the actor can be heard wailing in pain as people encourage him to "keep fighting").

“Eight ribs broken in 14 places. Right knee, right ankle broken, left leg tibia broken, left ankle broken, right clavicle broken, right shoulder broken. Face, eye socket, jaw, mandible broken. Lung collapsed. Pierced from the rib bone, your liver — which sounds terrifying,” the teaser states.

“What’s my body going to look like?” Renner remembers thinking about all of his injuries. “Am I just going to be a spine and a brain, like a science experiment?”

Throughout the interview, the actor maintains his composure, but when Sawyer adds, "I heard that you had, in sign language, you said to your family, ‘I’m sorry.'”

“I chose to survive. That’s not gonna kill me, no way,” he says. “I’ve lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience, but I’ve been refueled and refilled with love and titanium.”

In the teaser, we see Renner receiving physical therapy and utilising a knee scooter to get around.

“When you look in the mirror, do you see a new face?” Sawyer asks, to which Renner replies, “No, I see a lucky man.”

A few days after the interview, Renner will be present at the international premiere of "Rennervations," which will be held on April 11 at the Regency Village Theater in Los Angeles. After screening, the actor will take part in a Q&A session. The actor's new television series "Rennervations," about renovating vehicles, premieres on April 12 on Disney+.
