Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be seeking a boost to their fame at their expected attendance at King Charles III's Coronation ceremony however, it may backfire at them at the monarch might benefit more from it according to royal expert Tom Bower.
While speaking to The Sun, the royal author said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's desire to grab the world's attention will give King Charles a boost to his popularity.
Bower said: "Exploiting their popularity at the Coronation will boost Charles’s status.
He said, "But that advantage will evaporate if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex grab the public’s attention over that weekend."
He added,"Paralysed by fear and indecision, Charles has failed to suppress the Sussexes' vile vitriol."
While Prince Harry and Meghan confirmed that they were given an official invitation to King Charles' Coronation they have yet to state whether they plan to attend the ceremony.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seek 'attention'
Allegedly, the couple is delaying their RSVP due to the attention that they are getting.
As per Casey Jones, while speaking to The Express, the press is monitoring their every move in a bid to get their answer.
"I definitely think that the couple should attend the Coronation. You need to understand that there’s a reason why their spokesperson revealed that they’ve received the invitation. It’s a hint that they’ll be attending," Jones said.
"They had a choice of not declaring it but they did, so there has to be a reason behind it. This is how PR works for celebrities and royal families," he added.
"They can’t just blatantly announce that they’ll be attending an event because they deliberately want things to be secretive."
