When Reese Witherspoon, ex husband Jim Toth got arrested

In the backdrop of Reese Witherspoon’s divorce from Jim Toth, news of the former couple getting in trouble with the cops began going viral.

Some time 10 years ago, the Oscar winning actress and her agent husband were reportedly arrested in Atlanta after the couple was pulled over for driving while under the influence.

While her husband was in the wrong Witherspoon was also arrested after she disobeyed officers’ orders to remain seated in the car.

Toth went on to plead guilty for DUI but managed to escape potential jail time when the Legally Blonde star paid a fine for obstruction.

Later on Witherspoon made an appearance on Good Morning America and issued an apology while taking responsibility for her actions.

“It’s just completely unacceptable and we are so sorry and embarrassed and we know better and we shouldn’t have done that,”

This comes after Witherspoon revealed that she and her agent ex-husband Toth decided to call it quits on their 12-year marriage.

“It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”

This is Witherspoon’s second divorce, her first being from Ryan Phillipe.
