Dick Van Dyke suffers car accident in Malibu: Police

According to authorities, Dick Van Dyke had "mild injuries" after hitting a gate with his automobile on March 15 in Malibu, California, according to People magazine.

Authorities claim that the silver 2018 Lexus LS 500 that the 97-year-old actor was operating skidded into the building. There has been unusually heavy rainfall in the area.

Van Dyke was attended to by paramedics on the spot, according to the police, even though he was not taken to the hospital. The Mary Poppins legend's nose and mouth were bleeding, and insiders told TMZ—the outlet that broke the news of the accident—that he may have suffered a concussion.

When he was revealed on The Masked Singer's season 9 debut in February, the celebrity was last spotted on television.

"I had never even seen the show when they asked me. So I checked it out and it looked like a lot of fun," he told the outlet, after his exit from the Fox series. "I was positive they wouldn't be able to guess who I was. And I was right!"

Van Dyke sang When You're Smiling    by Frank Sinatra on the programme, a musical choice the actor credits to his wife Arlene Silver.

"They wanted me to do something current and I know nothing from rock," Van Dyke admitted. "So we picked out one which typifies me. She's the one that came up with it and I liked the song, too."
