Shazam! Fury of the Gods star Zachary Levi got candid about the issues behind the aforementioned film's failure after it opened to lower than "already low projections" that the studio had.
Taking to Twitter, the actor responded to a fan who expressed "disappointment" over the movie, adding not to place the onus of the blame on Snyder fans.
"Hmmm. Where did you get the idea that I’m blaming the Snyder fans?"
Another user went on to explain the power of Snyder fans that has kept filmgoers invested in the DC Universe, forged by none other than Zac Snyder.
"Were happy for the failure of the film," the Snyder fan expressed.
Levi, in turn, went on to explain in depth as to what went wrong and how most of the target audience, families, had no idea that Shazam 2 is a family friendly movie due to unclear marketing.
"This is also true. Sad, but true. How much that actually affects the box office is anyone’s guess. But I think the biggest issue we’re having is marketing. This is a perfect family movie, and yet a lot of families aren’t aware of that. Which is just a shame," Levi tweeted.
Levi also clarified his stance on Snyder fans, adding: "I have no issue with Snyder fans. Heck, I’ve been to nearly all his movies myself. My issue is with anyone who wishes to destroy something, simply because it’s not what they want. That comes from hate, not love."
