Tom Cruise’s daughter Suri goes to college while ‘he has no part in her life’

Tom Cruise must miss his daughter Suri.

Suri, the 16-year-old daughter of Katie Holmes, and her mother have already begun the process of applying to universities.

Suri's famous father, Tom Cruise, won't assist Her in this process because the actor "has no involvement" in Suri's life.

Suri, who will turn 17 next month, "has sent some applications out," according to a source close to Katie, 44, and is "leaning towards" studying fashion in New York City.

Katie, her fashion-forward mother, would be overjoyed with this decision.

“Suri is applying to schools all over the place. [Katie] really does want her to stay in New York so they can be close to each other. Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective,” according to the insider, Katie is "overwhelmed" by the thought of her daughter leaving for college.

Although Katie is actively assisting her daughter with her college applications, the teen's father, 60-year-old Mission Impossible actor Tom, will not be involved in the process as he has not seen his daughter since 2013, the year after he and Katie divorced.

When the couple divorced, it was said that Katie did so out of concern for raising her daughter as a Scientologist, a faith to which Tom has a great deal of devotion.

Tom and Suri's relationship has grown more distant over the years as a result of Suri's decision to leave the religion and the marriage, which created a significant split between them.

Tom "does not have a part in [Suri's] life," the insider said after it was previously disclosed that the two haven't spoken in years.

The insider does point out that, in accordance with his highly-guarded divorce arrangement with his actress ex, Tom will cover Suri's college tuition bills even if he won't have a say in where his daughter attends school.
