TWICE’s Chaeyoung is taking responsibility.

Earlier this week, the K-pop singer took to Instagram to post a photo of herself wearing a Sid Vicious T-shirt with a Nazi symbol on it.

Fans were quick to point out the problematic symbol and shortly after, Chaeyoung deleted the post.

The 23-year-old singer also penned an apology for her ignorant stint. “Hello, this is Chaeyoung from TWICE,” the statement posted on her Instagram began.

“I sincerely apologize regarding the Instagram post,” she shared. “I didn’t correctly recognize the meaning of the tilted swastika in the t-shirt I wore.”

The Moonlight Sunrise artist expressed her deep apologies for “not thoroughly reviewing it,” hence “causing concern.”

“I will pay absolute attention in the future to prevent any situation similar from happening again.

“Sincerely apologize again,” Chaeyoung added.

Who was Sid Vicious?

Real name John Simon Richie, he was an English musician and a bassist in the punk rock band Sex Pistols.

He had a severe addiction to drugs, and despite checking in rehab a couple of times, Vicious always relapsed into the addiction which eventually led to his death at the age of 21.
