Gwyneth Paltrow sets TRIP to court for trial over Utah Ski Accident

Gwyneth Paltrow may get served.

According to a source who spoke with Fox News Digital, Gwyneth Paltrow will testify in a civil action involving a ski accident that occurred in 2016.

A retired ophthalmologist has filed a $300,000 lawsuit against Paltrow, alleging that the actress skied into him at the Deer Valley resort from behind.

According to the lawsuit received by Fox News Digital, Terry Sanderson accused the founder of Goop of skiing off after the collision, which left him with a "permanent traumatic brain injury, 4 broken ribs, pain, suffering, loss of enjoyment of life," along with emotional distress and deformity.

"Paltrow got up, turned and skied away, leaving Sanderson stunned, lying in the snow, seriously injured," says the complaint filed in 2019.

"A Deer Valley ski instructor, who had been training Ms. Paltrow, but who did not see the crash, skied over, saw the injured Sanderson and skied off, falsely accusing Sanderson of having caused the crash."

Sanderson's initial hit-and-run accusation was rejected by a judge, and the Deer Valley Resort and instructor were dropped from the case.

Gwyneth Paltrow's side of story

Paltrow has insisted that Sanderson actually skied into her and that she stayed until the ski instructor at Deer Valley Resort gave her permission to go. Sanderson previously acknowledged, according to the 50-year-old actress, that he didn't have a distinct memory of the incident.

She has launched a countersuit and is requesting payment for her legal expenses as well as $1 in symbolic damages.

The trial for Paltow will start on March 21.
