Lily Collins begins her birthday week in Japan

Lily Collins is travelling abroad to celebrate her 34th birthday.

The Emily in Paris actress said on Instagram on Friday that she celebrated the new year at Japan's Moominvalley Park.

"Touched down in Japan, where my birthday came a little early in this time zone! Celebrations have already begun — first stop: Moominvalley Park…" she captioned her Instagram post.

Collins' Instagram pictures post opens with a sweet image of the birthday girl grinning broadly in a beanie with one of the Moomin figures perched on top.

She is then shown with two other figures, one of whom is the Moomintroll itself, leaning against a "Spring Festival" installation.

The official Instagram commented on Collins' post with the quote, "'All nice things are good for you.' - Moominmamma.

The following images show Collins holding up a birthday treat with the words "Happy Birthday Lily" printed on the plate and the dishes she used to clean up after eating her delectable dessert.

Along with a photo of herself looking exactly like a life-size Moomin figure, she also uploaded a picture of her husband Charlie McDowell seated between a cutout of another theme park attraction.

McDowell wrote his own birthday letter to his wife, including images of Collins riding the bullet train and gazing down in a reflecting pool.

"Happy birthday (in Tokyo) @lilyjcollins! Every day you reflect goodness into this world and we are all lucky recipients. I love you endlessly," he wrote.
