Donald Trump is taking back control?

As per the latest update, YouTube has lifted the ban on the former president of the United States that was placed in January 2021.

The announcement was made by the video platform’s public policy vice president Leslie Miller who claimed that Trump is now allowed to upload videos to his channel.

"Starting today, the Donald J. Trump channel is no longer restricted and can upload new content," she wrote on Twitter.

"We carefully evaluated the continued risk of real-world violence, while balancing the chance for voters to hear equally from major national candidates in the run-up to an election.

"This channel will continue to be subject to our policies, just like any other channel on YouTube."

As for now, the official YouTube channel of Trump harbors over 2.5 million subscribers.

Why Was Donald Trump Banned?

Besides YouTube, the politician was also banned from Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

The suspension came after his supporters stormed the US Capitol in Washington DC as the US Congress was in process of certifying Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election.

After losing to Biden, Trump shortly announced that he would run for the upcoming elections as US president in 2024.
