Prince William and Kate Middleton are now given the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales

Prince William and Kate Middleton are now the Prince and Princess of Wales as they receive royal titles after many delays.

These labels were announced by King Charles, one day after the death of Queen Elizabeth II back in September, but were not made official until now.

The Country's official public record read, "In accordance with the direction of HIS MAJESTY THE KING Letters Patent have passed the Great Seal of the Realm, dated the 13th February 2023 for creating His Royal Highness Prince William Arthur Philip Louis, Duke of Cornwall Rothesay and Cambridge, Earl of Carrick and Strathearn, Baron of Renfrew, Baron Carrickfergus, K.G., K.T., Lord of the Isles and Prince and Great Steward of Scotland, PRINCE OF WALES and EARL OF CHESTER."

Kate and William's official social media accounts were updated following the death of the Queen.

Their original Instagram page @dukeandduchessofcambridge is now private and takes users to their new page @princessandprincessofwales.

It is to be noted, that the title Prince of Wales is not automatic it has to be bestowed by a monarch. Even Charles was not declared Prince of Wales till he turned nine, six years after Queen Elizabeth took control over the throne.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are taking to their new roles with aplomb

William and Kate got moved up the chain of royal hierarchy when Charles became the King. Being the Prince and Princess of Wales comes with its new set of royal duties and obligations.

The royal biographer Katie Nicholl told People that Kate and William have adapted to the new roles like they were born into it.

"William's years of being mentored by his grandmother and his father have really paid off because the transition to Prince of Wales has been seamless."

"Kate has also effortlessly moved into a role with so much weight and history and is already making it her own."
