Steven Yeun may be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe will now feature Steven Yeun. In "Thunderbolts," the Oscar-nominated actor will debut with Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
It's unclear what role Yeun will play in the movie, which is scheduled to begin production in June. Whoever his character is, they'll probably have a part to play in the expanding MCU's future.
"Thunderbolts," scheduled to hit theatres on July 26, 2024, is being directed by Jake Schreier. The MCU's Phase Five, which started with "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and continues with "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" and "The Marvels," "Captain America: New World Order," "Blade," and "Deadpool 3," is supposed to come to a close with the anti-hero adventure.
The script's author, Eric Pearson ("Black Widow"), has kept his identity a secret. In the comics, "Thunderbolts" assembles a group of villains from the MCU to complete a government task.
On-screen, the recruits include Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Stan as Bucky Barnes, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine. Ayo Edebiri, the breakout star of "The Bear," most recently joined the cast in an unnamed role.
Yeun, who made a name for herself on "The Walking Dead" and was nominated for an Oscar for "Minari," most recently acted in Jordan Peele's UFO thriller "Nope." Next, he will be working with Robert Pattinson, and filmmaker Bong Joon Ho on the sci-fi film "Micky 17," which will be produced by Warner Bros. CAA, Principal Entertainment, and Gotham Group are his agents.
