Ryan Seacrest is saying goodbye.
Ryan Seacrest is saying farewell to his morning co-hosting duties with Kelly Ripa.
Seacrest and Ripa announced Thursday's "Live with Kelly and Ryan" morning show.
“I’ve decided to make this my last season as co-host,” Seacrest explained, calling the decision "bittersweet."
“You’ve gone from being a friend to a family member. You are family to us,” Ripa said. “I’m so proud of you and I cheer you on endlessly.”
Seacrest initially pledged to three years on the show, which he later increased to six because he enjoys hosting.
“I look up to you. I respect you so much,” Seacrest said of Ripa.
“I love the fact that we get to connect every day. There’s nothing like this on television. This show really comes today because of an incredible family of people.”
This spring, Seacrest will step down from the show. What about his replacement? Mark Consuelos, Ripa's husband, will take on the role.
Consuelos has appeared on the show numerous times with Ripa over the years.
Seacrest, one of the world's most well-known broadcasters, first appeared on the hit show in 2017, when ABC began looking for a replacement for Michael Strahan.
Since taking the job, he's been doing double - and sometimes triple - duty as host of "American Idol" and his nationally syndicated radio shows for iHeartMedia.
