Blake Lively makes FUN of Super Bowl Ads in New Betty Buzz Commercial

Blake Lively takes a dig on Super Bowl ads.

In a parody of old-school, "rough-and-tough" beer advertising, the actress and creator of the bubbly mixer company makes a cameo appearance.

She is joined by her husband, Ryan Reynolds, in the advertisement, which premieres during the Puppy Bowl in 2023.

In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, Lively claims that the Puppy Bowl was the ideal venue for airing the commercial for her recently launched company, which she created in 2021.

"As a 90s baby, The Super Bowl is less about football and more about commercials with beer and Clydesdales. We couldn't afford the Super Bowl …or the Clydesdales… but we could afford the beer …sort of, ginger beer. No, there's no alcohol. Just fresh delicious chunks of ginger in an electrically sparkling base. The point is, I'm running a start up here. See you at the Puppy Bowl…."

Reynolds plays a "cowboy narrator" who provides a seductive play-by-play on how to enjoy Betty Buzz's ginger beer, even though he isn't on screen in the commercial. He begins by mumbling, "Presenting Betty Buzz ginger beer," in the video above.

A parody of vintage beer commercials, he speaks in a drawl as he describes the "bold flavour," bottles of the fizzy beverage glitter on the screen, and white horses gallop in the distance.

He continues, "The taste of fresh ginger with just the proper degree of heat.

He says, "Sip it, down it, or enjoy it on its own — perfectly sized bubbles," in an even deeper whisper.

Lively is now visible on the screen, dressed in red flannel. Viewers can see her pop the top off with her tongue and pour it into a glass through the pixelated screen.

Reynolds keeps drawing in the audience by describing the bubbles in the ginger beer while Lively humorously begins to chug the entire glass in one swoop.

"Pair it with rum. Pair it with tequila. Pair it with whiskey. Pair it with anything – especially your mouth," Reynolds concludes the commercial.
