XXXTentacion Murder Suspect Testifies, Says He Was Nervous About Confronting Rapper

On Wednesday, the jury had the chance to see for the first time the CCTV footage that documented the shooting death of local rapper XXXTentacion.

On June 18, 2018, the rapper, 20-year-old Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was fatally murdered outside a motorsports store in Broward County, Florida.

XXXTentacion was reportedly stopped in his car by another vehicle as he tried to leave the dealership and a scuffle that ensued led to a shooting, according to CBS Miami.

Robert Allen, one of the men accused of the crime, spoke about the day's activities while on the witness stand. He claimed that he and his co-defendants, Trayvon Newsome, 24, Michael Boatwright, 27, and Dedrick Williams, 26, had decided the day prior to the alleged murder to go on a general looting spree and rob potential victims.

Allen went on to say that in order to carry out their alleged plan, they were armed, disguised their faces with masks, and rented a car. The party visited RIVA Motorsports to purchase a mask for Williams. While there, they ran across XXXTentacion, who they were able to identify by the automobile sitting outside.

When Allen and Williams later visited the store, they claimed to have seen XXXTentacion there with an unidentifiable Black male.

The two allegedly met again in the car with Boatwright and Newsome after spending some time at the store to discuss how to rob the rapper.

Allen claimed that he intervened at that point and said, "I don't think it's a good idea," pointing out the danger posed by the presence of the store's security cameras.

Each of the four individuals is accused of first-degree murder and armed robbery. Each might receive a life sentence if found guilty, according to many sources.
