Here's how Teen Wolf: The Movie handles Stiles' absence

Fans had been wondering how the sequel to the hit show Teen Wolf will explain the absence of one of its main characters Stiles, played by Dylan O’Brien.

Now that the sequel titled Teen Wolf: The Movie has been released, it has succeeded in answering the question.

Stiles was the central part of the Teen Wolf universe and was connected to most of the regular characters in one way or another.

The supernatural film brought back several of those regulars, including Stiles’ father Stilinski, played by Linden Ashby, his best friend Scott, played by Tyler Posey, and his girlfriend Lydia, played by Holland Roden, which helped explain his absence.

As Stilinski and his fellows are out to investigate a crime scene, he mentions whether he should call in the FBI to take over the case or simply, his son.

This helped clear up that Stiles is working at the FBI.

His absence in Lydia’s life was explained by her revelation that the pair had broken up due to a recurring dream which had scared her, and hence, she distanced herself from him to protect him.
