Nikki Bella wore John Cena wedding dress to marry Artem Chigvintsev, here's why

Nikki Bella left the world in shock after revealing that one of the dresses she wore when saying 'I do' to Artem Chigvintsev was initially meant for her wedding to John Cena back when she was engaged to him.

Speaking to Us Weekly ahead of Nikki Bella Says I Do, a wedding special, the 39-year-old shared how she loved the dress but more importantly felt empowered by the thought of wearing it even after parting ways with John.

"I had the moment with that dress … when I saw it," she began.

"It was all something that I dreamed of. I went back and forth with that decision. For me, it [reflects] how I stand as a strong woman, I was like wait, why should I not wear what I love? Because of my past? It just didn’t make sense to me."

While her sister Brie Bella disagreed with the decision, Nikki maintained that she would only change her mind if her man "an issue with it" which to her surprise the pro dancer was "cool about it".

"He looks at it as just a material thing," the wrestler said. 

"He probably wanted me to save money but then didn’t realize I bought a few other dresses after, 

"I didn’t think it was going to be that big of a deal for people to react how I reacted … I think [if there’s] an issue with it, they’re bringing some other energy into our happiness."

He added: "Why would we want to even waste time talking about it … It did not bother me at all."
