Tracey Bregman celebrates 40 years on ‘The Young and the Restless’

Tracey Bregman as Lauren Fenmore on The Young and the Restless, it’s been 40 years.

On CBS' long-running daytime soap The Young and the Restless, Tracey E. Bregman was hired for a brief stint in 1983 as Lauren, a friend of good girl Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland).

“Lauren didn’t even have a last name,” says Bregman to TV Insider, laughing about that day. “[Executive producer] Bill Bell said that I went to exit [the scene] and I turned back and looked at Beth and he saw Lauren Fenmore, the mean girl.”

Despite having gained her name by harassing Traci, the obnoxious youngster later turned into one of Genoa City's most honourable residents. Because of this, Bregman's 40th episode on the soap is dedicated to her on Wednesday, January 25.

According to Bregman, “Lauren is given a Lifetime Achievement Award for Leadership in Fashion.” She begins to chat about her life after discovering something unexpected, which sparks an entertaining look back at her time on the daytime soap.

Bregman recalls Lauren's love life, including her 17-year marriage to cunning lawyer Michael Baldwin, as well as old plotlines and fashion statements from the 1980s, like huge hair and shoulder pads that "were so large!" Bregman also talks about past storylines and fashion statements.
