Taylor Kinney taking a break from Chicago Fire due to 'personal matter'

Taylor Kinney is reportedly taking a “sudden” leave from NBC’s Chicago Fire.

According to Deadline, the 41-year-old actor will not be part of the upcoming episodes of the action-drama series.

The cast and crew of the show were informed of their co-star's leave of absence a day before the official announcement.

E! News revealed that the Vampire Diaries actor is “dealing with a personal matter,” which will result in the scripts being re-written to accommodate his absence.

Kinney is one of the five original cast members of the Dick Wolf production and has survived all 11 seasons since its debut in 2012.

He has previously reprised his role in other shows of the Chicago franchise, including Chicago PD, Chicago Med, and Chicago Justice.
