Kim Kardashian Buys Famous ‘EXPENSIVE’ Princess Diana Cross Pendant at Auction

Kim Kardashian now owns Princess Diana's Jewelry.

The 42-year-old SKIMS billionaire bought the Princess Diana-famous Attallah cross pendant, studded with diamonds and made of amethyst, on Wednesday at Sotheby's annual Royal & Noble sale.

The Kardashians star placed a bid on the item, which has 5.25 carats of circular-cut diamonds and square-cut amethysts as accents and eventually won it for $197,453 within the last five minutes. This was "double its pre-auction estimate," according to Sotheby's.

"This is a bold piece of jewelry by its size, color, and style which cannot fail to make a vibrant statement, whether it be of faith or fashion — or indeed both," shared Sotheby London's Head of Jewelry, Kristian Spofforth.

"We are delighted that this piece has found a new lease of life within the hands of another globally famous name."

According to sources who spoke to PEOPLE, Kim is proud to hold a priceless object formerly worn by the late princess. She will include the lovely cross pendant in her expanding collection of accessories that were once worn or belonged to strong, famous women who inspired Kim.

The late Princess of Wales wore the pendant several times, the most significant one being the 1987 London charity gala for Birthright, which benefited the group's humanitarian work for women and girls going through pregnancy and childbirth.
