Van Conner, bassist & Screaming Trees co-founder, dies at 55 

Van Conner, the co-founder of Screaming Trees, has passed away. He was 55.

The news was announced by his brother and bandmate, Gary Lee Conner, who informed that the late musician had caught pneumonia.

“Van Conner bassist and songwriter of Screaming Trees died last night of an extended illness at 55 It was pneumonia that got him in the end,” he wrote on his Facebook.

“He was one of the closest friends I ever had and I loved him immensely. I will miss him forever and ever and ever…” Lee Conner added.

Van Conner formed Screaming Trees with his brother in the mid- 1980s. The band consisted of the pair, as well as singer Mark Lanegan, who died last year, and drummer Barrett Martin.
