Kelly Thiebaud reveals reason behind General Hospital exit

Kelly Thiebaud is psyched up to move on to another chapter in her life.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, the 40-year-old actress revealed the reason behind her departure from General Hospital.

“One is that I’m in love,” she shared, “and have been doing long-distance for almost a year now, and my partner cannot move to the States at the moment.”

Thiebaud added that she is “very interested” in taking on other roles without being restricted to a contract.

“As much as I love Britt and I love the fans and I love General Hospital, I just felt like I had to go and pursue those other dreams and goals of mine,” she said.

The latest episode of the ABC daytime soap opera saw Dr. Britt Westbourne breathe her last as a sendoff to her character.
