Drake Bell separated from wife Janet Von Schmeling 'few months ago'

Drake Bell and Janet Von Schmeling have separated some time ago.

According to a source, The actress, 28, ended her relationship with the former Nickelodeon star "a few months ago." They married in 2018 after dating for five years and had one son together.

While the former couple has split up, being parents is still a primary desire between them, an insider told People magazine.

"Janet is devoted to raising their son," the source said. "Drake and Janet are committed to maintaining a peaceful co-parenting relationship and giving their son the best life possible."

The news of their breakup comes just weeks after the Daily Mail released photographs and footage of Bell, 36, reportedly smoking balloons in his car while parked at a California vape shop in December. Bell's small son was photographed in the backseat on one of two occasions.

According to the source, Bell is now receiving outpatient substance abuse treatment. "Drake needed to take time to get help and focus on his health," as per the source.

Bell and Von Schmeling's relationship has been notoriously covert, with Bell finally confirming the two were married and had a son in a 2021 tweet.

"In response to various rumors that are incorrect, I have been married for almost 3 years, and we are blessed to be the parents of a wonderful son," Bell, who acted under the stage name Drake Campana, tweeted in Spanish at the time.

"Thank you very much to all my fans around the world for your good wishes."
