Johnny Depp has recently ranked the most popular person on Google followed by Will Smith and Amber Heard.
According to media reports, Google released its Annual Year in Search statistics for 2022 in which the Pirates of the Caribbean actor had topped the list of search-engine’s trending people.
The Google reported that Depp had “a high spike in traffic over sustained period in 2022 as compared to 2021” in the United States.
Smith stood at number two
In the US, Smith stood at number two, who also created a media storm when he smacked Chris Rock at the Oscars in March.
The third trending celebrity was Aquaman star, as this year she was involved in a highly-publicised defamation trial against her ex-husband Depp.
As far as UK statistics is concerned, footballer Mason Greenwood, who was charged with attempted rape, beat Depp as the top trending person in 2022.
Interestingly, the Hancock actor ranked third in the UK followed by short-lived Prime Minister Liz Truss and then Heard.
Meanwhile, last week, Heard’s legal team submitted a 68-page appeal after Depp won the defamation case.
The jury reportedly awarded him $15 million damages while Heard was awarded $2 million damages
