Christina Ricci is happily passing her throne to Jenna Ortega.
The 43-year-old actress spoke to Elle, offering her two cents on the comparison between her version of Wednesday in the original Addams Family franchise and Ortega’s rendition on the new Netflix series.
The Pan Am actress returned to the franchise with the role of Nevermore Academy teacher, Ms. Thornhill on the show.
Ricci said she had predicted that there would be a comparison between the two renditions, calling it a “natural inclination.”
However, she thinks comparing both works is “unreal.”
She went on to praise Ortega’s performance in the series, noting that she was “truly incredible at making Wednesday a modern badass.”
Ricci shared that she “loved being Wednesday” taking pride in having to play the role, but, added that “[Wednesday] is [Jenna’s] part now,” who she thinks is “amazing,” “brave,” “cool,” and “really doing the part justice.”
