George Clooney, Amy Grant + more honored at ritzy Washington gala

A star-studded celebration was witnessed at the glitzy Washington gala on Sunday, honoring the illustrious careers of A-list stars.

George Clooney, contemporary Christian star Amy Grant, Soul legend Gladys Knight, and Cuban-born American composer Tania Leon received the highest US arts honor for their timeless contribution to art over the years.

The event was held at the Kennedy Centre and was attended by President Joe Biden and the first lady, vice president, and second gentleman, as well as Nancy Pelosi and her husband.

Clooney graced the glamorous event with his human rights lawyer wife Amal Clooney, who couldn’t hide her excitement over her husband receiving the honor.

The 61-year-old actor’s longtime pal and co-star Julia Roberts made a statement by sporting a ballroom gown adorned with images of Clooney, as she proudly dubbed him the “best combination of a gentleman and playmate” at the event.

The night was emblazoned by powerful performances by Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Ukrainian singer Jamala, Brandi Carlile, Ariana DeBose, Mickey Guyton, and Garth Brooks.
