This year’s Thanksgiving Day Parade might be missing one of its cardinal attributes, which would make it a lot less exciting than it usually is.
Fans are concerned about whether veteran NBC anchor Al Roker will host the traditional evening after he recently revealed his ongoing health battle.
The 68-year-old television personality has hosted the festive event alongside Today show co-stars Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb dutifully since 1995.
However, his appearance in this year’s parade seems unlikely after he informed his fans that he was suffering from blood clots on his legs and lungs via Instagram on Nov. 18.
NBC has also been tight-lipped about whether he will host the event or sit it out.
"If Al Roker isn't doing the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade this year, what is even the point of having Thanksgiving at all,” a Twitter user expressed their disappointment, while another claimed the holiday would have "no meaning" if Roker missed the event.
