Mimi Parker dies of cancer.

The famed indie rock band Low's vocalist and drummer Mimi Parker passed away on Saturday after a two-year struggle with ovarian cancer. She was 55.

Parker's passing was confirmed to Variety by the band's management.

Early on Sunday morning, Low posted the tragic news of Parker's passing on its official Twitter account.

“Friends, it’s hard to put the universe into language and into a short message, but she passed away last night, surrounded by family and love, including yours. Keep her name close and sacred. Share this moment with someone who needs you. Love is indeed the most important thing.”

Low was founded in 1993 by Parker and her husband, Alan Sparhawk. Despite the band switching out new players throughout the years, the two would remain its constant members.
